Help Desk

The NCS Campus Help Desk offers IT support assistance to Faculty, Staff, and Students in a wide range of computer-related issues. Support is available via phone, web, email, or in person.

Our mission is to provide a single point of contact for support, training, and guidance in the use of Information Technology to the Rutgers Newark community. Our goal is to provide service excellence while maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

Note:  Passwords may be changed at the Help Desk, Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

The Help Desk is open 8:00am - 6:30pm, Monday - Thursday and 8:00am - 5:00pm Friday.

Move-In Weekend - Help Desk Extended Hours

We know that moving in and getting connected to the network is an important part of Residential Life. The Newark Computing Services Help Desk is here to help. We will be open for extended hours during move in to assist you with computer problems.

Windows XP Support Ending April 8, 2014

Originally released in 2001, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows XP as of April 8, 2014, and will no longer provide security updates and patches for the Windows XP operating system.

Decommissioning of Student Campus Email Services July 1, 2014

The Office of Information Technology will complete its transition to ScarletApps (Google Apps for Education at Rutgers) and decommission student campus email services on Pegasus, Eden, and Clam as if July 1, 2014.


How to Setup Outlook 2010 for Andromeda Email

  1. Open Outlook 2010
  2. Click the File tab
  3. Under the Account Information heading, click Add Account
  4. Select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types button on the Auto Account Setup screen.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select Internet E-Mail on the Choose Service screen.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Enter your User Information (Your Name and Email Address).
