The Video Streaming Server provides streaming for mp4 formatted files. You may login directly to the machine via SSH. Video can be uploaded via SFTP, SCP, or Web Drive.

Access and Logging In

You must belong to a Rutgers Newark department and request a departmental account on the Video Streaming Server. To request an account please fill out following Departmental Account Form and indicate type of account to be a Video Streaming account. Submit this form to the Help Desk for approval. You can log into the video streaming server using any SSH or SFTP client such as those featured under Secure Services

The hostname of the video streaming server is: stream.newark.rutgers.edu

Video Streaming File Location

Video Streaming files should go in the directory public_html directory under your departmental or personal account. Links must be placed inside your web page to these files using the following format

stream.newark.rutgers.edu/~departmental_account_name/  file_name.mp4 (Where file_name.mp4 is a mp4 file that has been uploaded.)
