What is a Net ID?
All faculty, staff, and students are assigned a Rutgers unique identifier known as a NetID, comprised of initials and a unique number (e.g. jqs23). In order to access many of the electronic services available to you at Rutgers, you need to activate your Rutgers NetID. You can activate your NetID by visiting:
You will need your NetID to use the many of the tools below. Select the tool you need for the system on which you receive email.
Scarletmail - ScarletApps is the Rutgers implementation of Google Apps for Education.
The ScarletApps suite includes the core Google hosted applications; Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Talk, Video and Sites. In addition to the core suite, Google has added dozens of additional apps to the Google Apps for Education program. Connect - Rutgers Connect is the central email, calendar, and cloud services system designed for faculty and staff, based on the Office 365 suite by Microsoft

New Connect Accounts - New accounts are issued to faculty and staff members automatically when they activate their NetID. To request a Connect account for a member of the university community that does not have an account by default, for example a student worker or guest, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information: Name/NetID of Sponsor, Department, user's Name/NetID, and reason for account.
Connect Tools - There are several types of resources and tools available within Rutgers Connect, please see the resource and tool definitions below along with links to submit change requests to the Help Desk.

Andromeda (Webmail) - Andromeda webmail is the legacy email system for Rutgers University - Newark. These accounts are currently being migrated to Rutgers Connect, if you have specific questions about your Andromeda account please contact the Help Desk.
